How do I get WhatsApp Messenger App to work on my Ipod Touch?

Q. I downloaded WhatsApp application onto my Ipod Touch but I cant get it to work because it says "Your device is not supported" How do I get it to work? Thanks

after that you have to download the app via torrent.

I know that whatsapp messenger works for iPhones and BB's, but I need to know if it works for Verizon Wireless phones because I really want to get it in order to keep in touch with friends overseas. When I got on the website, they only have options for iPhones, Blackberrys, Droids, and Nokia phones. :S
