Q. I mean there are many other messengers available(which are cross platform too) but whatsapp is still the most popular one although the others are free but on whatsapp,u have to pay 1.99$ every year.Sure 1.99$ isn't much but why pay when u can use a free messenger ?

Whatsapp is a free application which enables users to instant message others who also have the app, it's basically like BlackBerrys BBM and The iPhones iMessage, it's a useful app and I use it a lot! It's totally free and well worth it! It lets you know if your message has been sent by showing a tick and then if you get 2 ticks your message has been read and it also tells you at the top when the person is typing! It also shows you when the person last used the app! I've got the iPhone version and I've never had to pay.
